Lennard Taylor Spring / Summer 2016
I’ve had the pleasure of viewing many fashion shows involving Winnipeg designer and artist, Lennard Taylor. My first back in September 2012, where I bought my first LT jacket. I’ve been hooked ever since! From charity fundraisers to Raw:Natural Born Artist expos he has never served to disappoint. But where his talent truly shines are when he puts on his own show.
Lennard’s spring 2016 show, held in a crisp, white, obscur location in downtown Winnipeg held up those high standards I’ve come to expect of him.
I always think his denim can’t get any cooler and then it does.
All of the draping and layering!
Being an artist and designer, Lennard took this opportunity to showcase, not only his fashions, but some of his unmistakable paintings on the runway.
You could hear the buzz of the audience as soon as the paint cans made an appearance. All the phones came out to record this art in the making.
How fascinating to watch him at work. Swift, confident strokes. Masterpieces complete and walking in minutes.
He painted a dress I just had to have. Click here to see the clip I took.
Clean, white makeup by The BeYouTee factory, sleek hair by Aveda and Natasha Ateah and the ever polished models from Swish rounded out all of the creative details.
A benefit of attending his solo shows is the ability to shop his collection as soon as they come off the models. And we all know that shopping is fun!
And, my one of a kind, hand painted, Lennard Taylor dress is perfect for summer.
